In this unit, the students will explore the underlying causes and ultimate effects of the American Revolution, told from all perspectives: British, colonial, Native American, woman, and slave. The unit will begin with colonists' complaints and reasons for drafting the Declaration of Independence. It will then proceed to the conflict itself, ending with the British surrender at Yorktown and the Treaty of Paris.

In order to build excitement about the content, the unit will begin with the Voki on the American Revolution, the fun BrainPOP movie, and the YouTube video.
The students will use The History Place website to research the American revolution and, in small groups, develop together a Powerpoint presentation covering what they have discovered.
The Quia games and the Jeopardy Powerpoint game will serve as a review before assessment.
